The campaign against Self ID

Welcome to This Woman Won't Wheesht - a platform for my writing about women’s rights at a particularly difficult time in Scotland, where I live.

The Scottish government is determined to introduce ‘self identification’ (Self ID) which, if passed by the Scottish Parliament, will mean that biological sex is no longer relevant.

I am lucky enough to have a weekly column in Scotland’s national newspaper, The Scotsman, where I write about women and girls, but this collection will focus, in the main, on the campaign to stop Self ID.

I hope to have guest writers on here, and will draw on the work of some fantastic women across Scotland and the rest of the UK to inform my writing.
