I started this newsletter in response to the Scottish government’s plans to introduce gender self-ID.
It is evolving into a place where can I showcase my journalism and write about issues affecting women and girls, the world over. And there is a purpose to my writing.
Girls around the world continue to face unprecedented challenges to their education, and nowhere is that more pressing than Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. I have linked up with a Scottish charity that provides scholarships to keep Malawi girls in school. Far too many are forced to drop out of school because of early marriage, pregnancy or household poverty.
Your £5 a month subscription to This Woman Won’t Wheesht will, over a year, pay a girl’s school fees, her uniform and other support costs. Not a bad return for the price of a couple of coffees.
