If scotgov were genuinely concerned about ‘the most vulnerable people etc’- would it not be a better idea to dramatically increase health and especially mental health care for dysphoric people - rather than just say ‘there, you are a woman if you say you are, job done’?

I’m hearing from trans friends that there’s a three year waiting list - for a first appointment with a qualified therapist, to discuss their distress.

Obviously funding proper health care would be more expensive 🙄

It's seen as not life threatening and not urgent. There are long waiting lists. And other psychiatric clinics are non-existent. Take breast reduction/augmentation for instance. You can't get it even with a lot of psychological issues. Try other dysmorphic issues. And there are medical problems withing waits. The NHS can't cover everything.

Mental health services in this country are atrocious, indeed, and I totally agree about the low priority of any cosmetic surgery.

But it would be much better if confused children could have ‘watch and wait’ therapy, as the evidence says over 90% of them would drop the idea of transitioning. Unbelievable how a government can’t see this.

I do feel for the very few actual trans people who feel their lives are unbearable in the bodies they have- these actual transsexuals have never been a problem for women’s rights.

Oh, I can't agree more. Children and youngsters should be given priority. And as you say, mental health in this country is atrocious

Depressing and frightening obsession from our First Minister with pushing this fantastical agenda. At a stroke she makes the teaching of science and in particular biology pointless. Rosalind Franklin, Crick and Watson - did they do their work on DNA in vain?

I recently became a Gran. I notice that in the baby's health and development record book that Gender replaces Sex. Sex is the protected characteristic in Equalities law it is a great shame that Scottish Government is intent on pursing this gender ideaology over biological facts.

Yes, you're right. I wish this wasn't happening.

If this isn’t more medieval erasure of women as a class, so our safety, resourcing ,treatment and grievances don’t have to be addressed I don’t know what is.
