A few months ago, in my @TheScotsman column, I wrote an open letter to Nicola Sturgeon asking her to reconsider her approach to women’s rights. As a long time member of the Labour Party, I thought it only fair I afford Keir Starmer the same courtesy following his recent pronouncements on the matter
I can’t help thinking that there has never been a better time to start a Women’s Party… if all the feminist/women’s groups we are all in joined in one party…. God that amount of brains and strength (and cervix’s 😂) in one place?
I’m only hanging in with the SNP as long as Joanna’s there….
As a woman, a mother, a sister and a friend, the privacy, dignity and respect of women’s sex based rights and their ability to stay safe from male violence against women, is the only thing determining where my vote goes.
I have voted Labour in every election but no more. Sex based rights are not available to give away to male sexed people with identities.
Women do not consent to compelled inclusion of men in our protected characteristic.
I too will fight to my death. I will go to your mixed sex prisons to receive inevitable male violence against women. I will do anything, for the safety of my daughters.
I found Keir Starmers Desert Island Discs Episode quite moving , especially when talking about his parents- is this the same man? Am I wrong in thinking his mum was nurse? Will never forgive this betrayal.
Brilliant article and so we'll put. I ,too am devastated at the Labour Party's stance on this issue. I have voted Labour all my life and now ,at the age of 75 ,I find myself politically homeless.Shame to all those prepared to risk the safety ,privacy and dignity of women and girls in order to gain woke points with the mob !!

Brilliant Susan. I too left the Labour Party when Corbyn was elected but, sadly, I see nothing to tempt me back.
