At last more people seem to be waking up to this very real threat to women's and children's privacy ,safety and dignity ,thanks to all the hard work done by an ever growing number of women's groups and individual people willing to speak up for what's right !! All the issues are clearly raised in the book and so not one of them can claim ignorance.

Thank you for this article Susan. You are right in observing that Sturgeon’s feminism is shallow and superficial. I doubt she has ever had to consider men in women’s prisons or RCCs or refuges. I do not think she realises just how strongly women and some men feel about this issue. She needs someone to tell her the reality of the situation and that this is not the time to double down and ignore the fears and concerns of women.

I’m sharing this to my wummin’s group, always good to read anything that puts a bit of fire in the belly.
Sturgeon is many things but I seriously doubt that she is a feminist.
